Movement
Exercise and I have never really been friends. And now I am in probably the worst shape of my life, I really need to add some movement to get any form of weight loss and improvement in my health levels.
Because I am so far out of shape at the moment, I can’t just dive back into my long walks and strength routine that I used to do several years ago. So, instead, I’m focusing on small ways that I can include more movement in my life, like getting up and moving around more often, rather than just sitting at my desk all day.
My current plan includes stretching, taking a walk around the building once per day, and dancing around to a few songs at home in the evenings. I’ll expand this as I start to get into a better habit and my body acclimates to moving again.
To make things easier, I did get a new Fitbit to track my steps and heartrate. Now I can gradually start increasing my daily steps as well as other activities. Eventually I’d like to be taking those long walks again.
