Because I always try to look for the positives, I’m super happy that this downtime has brought about a resurgence in my reading. I mean I had already gotten out of the pandemic slump I had fallen into due to anxiety and whatever else, but this past week alone (my first officially unemployed), I finished 3 books. And the week before that, when I was on “leave,” I finished 2.

I had gotten into a rut where I was only reading audio books because I could do other things while reading. Thankfully I am back to reading both physical and digital books again as well. This helps me to get through a lot more books than reading in one format alone. And keeps me interested and involved.

Not only has the extra time on my hands helped to revive my reading, I think the rearranging of my book shelves has helped as well. Any time I have my hands on books for an extended time, it makes me want to dive in and read all the books. So hopefully I’ll be able to use my free time to do just that.

Hopefully I’ll be able to keep this level of reading going for a while, at least until I get a new job, and after, if I’m lucky.
