2025 Reading Log
My 2024 reading log was very simple. I didn’t track a lot of categories, just title, author, rating, and whether it was for review. This year I want to track a little more, without going too crazy.
Since reading even more diversely is one of my goals for 2025, my reading logs will reflect this, as well as the challenges I will be participating in and tracking. This year I will be keeping both a simpler paper log and a more detailed digital spreadsheet.
My paper log is again pretty simple. In addition to the title, author, rating, review spots from last year, I’ve also added a diverse column. These are just quick checkmark columns as I finish books. I also have an author page at the end of the log to tally books by author and notate new authors just like last year (2024 ended up with 3 pages for authors). And I put my bookish stickers to work to make each page fun since I cannot draw.
For the real detail, my digital tracker has columns for just about everything. Title, Author, Rating (drop-down), ARC, Review, New Author, Re-read, Fiction/Nonfiction, Audience (Adult, YA, Children), Format (drop-down), Genre, Diversity categories, Location, & Notes (for challenges and further diversity info). As of this writing, I am still tweaking the columns a bit, so I haven’t added pages for all of the months yet (It’s much easier to just duplicate the page once it’s ready), but there will be a separate page for each month.
Of course, I’ll also be updating all of my other reading spreadsheets throughout the year as well. And I’ll be sharing monthly and quarterly updates here on the blog as well.
