Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet. If you aren’t sure what site you have found yourself on, or how you got here… this is a book blog… mostly. While books are my passion and the main focus of what I’ll be writing about, I’ll also be discussing things that I am passionate about such as giving back to your community, social justice issues, and cats. And, you know, life in general.

While I have been blogging for years on another site and under another name, I decided it was time for a fresh start. My last blog had gotten stale and started experiencing a lot of technical issues. It seemed that my hosting platform and WordPress just couldn’t seem to play well together. And the name that I had given myself all those years ago when I launched my first blog just didn’t really fit me any longer. After the latest crash, I took it as a sign that it was time to close my website and move on to something new. I didn’t initially think that was going to mean an entirely new, rebranded blog, but I missed it and that’s the direction my heart took me.

Some of you may recognize pieces of my story, my taste in books, or my writing voice, and you may figure out who I am, but this time around I decided to keep my IRL identity off the blog so that it will remain a safe space for me. Growing up in a conservative family makes it hard for me to be open about a lot of aspects of my life, and as I currently live with said family, I have been hesitant to share a lot of myself for fear that it would get back to them. I’ve even created separate social media under my new name, so that I can share everything about who I am without fear of repercussions from those closest to me. (Because I know that sounds bad, to clarify the repercussions would be judgements and guilt trips, not violence).

Ok, things got a little deep, a little fast there! Time to get back to some fun before I scare you all away! What types of posts should you expect to be seeing when you visit? There will be lots of fun memes like Top Ten Tuesday, Stacking the Shelves, and The Sunday Post. There will also be reviews- a lot of romance and YA since they are my two favorite categories to read from, but other genres as well. I will post some deeper discussion posts, but also some light-hearted ones as well. I’ll feature some diverse authors and books, participate in readathons, share unboxings of my monthly subscription boxes, and feature monthly giveaways (check back on Saturday for my first one!).
