Goodreads has released their annual breakdown of books and I figured that would be a good jumping off point for this post, reviewing my 2022 best in books.

As of this writing, I have finished 61 books this year. I beat my Goodreads goal of 52. This wasn’t my best year reading, but certainly not my worst either. I should also finish 1-2 more books before the year itself is over.

My average rating for the year was 4.3. Almost every book I read earned 4 or 5 stars from me (there were a few 3 star reads thrown in there as well). Of the 61 books I’ve read, 23 were written by new-to-me authors and I completed 6 series,
