Charity Spotlight~ ASPCA

One of the things that I am passionate about is giving back to the community, whether that be local, national, or international. While by no means the only way to give, one of ways to give back is through charitable organizations. Each month I will be featuring a different organization, starting with those I personally support, and moving on to those recommended by readers.

This month, I am featuring the ASPCA, also known as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

I’m sure most people identify the ASPCA by the super sad commercials asking for donations with the dogs and cats looking so scared and forlorn in cages while a Sarah McLaughlin song plays. It’s a pretty powerful campaign that sticks in people minds. And makes me cry every time.

But you may not know the full scope of the ASPCA. They provide services from shelters to spay & neuter to relocation, they investigate hoarding and animal cruelty claims, they promote laws for animal welfare, and they not only help pets, but farm animals too.

As an animal lover, I started supporting the ASPCA long before I became a pet parent, and it is an organization that I will continue to support.

To get involved, please visit their website, they have opportunities for volunteers in all local areas. You can also click here to donate.

Disclaimer: I do not work for the ASPCA in any capacity and this is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
