Food Fight
I love fruit and veggies, broth based soups, yogurt, salads and all kinds of healthy foods. I also love donuts, pizza, pasta, burgers, chips, cake and candy. Finding the right balance between the two is where things go a little off track.
I menu plan, buy healthy foods and do really, really well. And then I have 3 servings of dinner and devour a bag of potato chips and 3 candy bars. Part of the problem is that I have no control of about half of my dinners. At least as far as what it is we’re eating and how it’s prepared (and it’s always a convenience item that needs minimal preparation). I also have no control over dinner time on those nights and end up getting really hungry, so I eat multiple servings.
I’m trying to balance what I eat throughout the day to avoid getting so hungry, but I feel like I burn through my afternoon snack so quickly. Maybe I need to add another one, something I can eat on the drive home like a protein bar, or eat right when I get home before dinner. I’ll have to experiment with something there.
I’m sure that I’m not alone in this… anyone else have something that works for you?
