Goals for the Year, So Far

We’ve made it through the first quarter of the year, so I thought now would be a good time to take a look at my goals for the year. Granted, these goals were made in November and December, so while I knew the year would be challenging, I still held out hope that I was wrong about how bad it would be.

I had divided my goals by reading, blogging and social media, so here we go.

Reading

Daily Reading- I have read at least one chapter every day

Focus- I’ve been reading from my 4 focus areas

Feedback Ratio- I’ve only raised my ratio by 1% so far, but I’ve also just gotten most of my tour ARCs and a bunch releasing between now and the end of the year.

Diversify Even More- I’ve been maintaining my 50% goal, but the majority are still in my usual categories

Tracking- I’ve been keeping up on my digital trackers, but not my paper journal.

Challenges- I post an update on these every month.

Blogging

Bookish Content- The majority of my content has been bookish

Consistent Updates- I have been keeping up on updates every month/quarter

Discussion Posts- Each month, I’ve featured at least 6 discussions, and have turned one of them into a feature

Bookish Features- I added new bookish features at the start of the year, and am considering some others

Behind the Scenes- This is the one area of the blog that I have neglected. I could really use some expert help on some of the behind the scenes stuff, but can’t afford to hire anyone, so I’m trying to muddle through on my own.

Social Media

Consistent Posting- My posting has been hit or miss so far this year. I sometimes share my blog posts or bookish thoughts, but mostly repost political information or my thoughts about what is happening. I share blog posts on Bluesky and Threads, and share more posts on Threads, but haven’t done anything on other platforms.

Engage Community- I’ve been doing well with this part through my reposts and comments on others’ posts.

Build Brand- I don’t really know how this is going.

Break Comfort Zone- This is an area where I need to do more.

Build Connections- Again, an area that needs more work.
