Love Letter to Myself

I’m not good at telling myself the good things about me, the things I love about myself. I am quick at noting the bad things or the things that I don’t like about myself. Why is that? Today, I want to write a type of love letter to myself, recognizing the things that I like about myself, for all of you.

~ I love that I try to give to others before I take for myself. Whether it be lunches, or donations, or small gifts.

~ I love that I love reading… everything

~ I love that I love music… and I miss making it.

~ I love that I have tried to use my platforms to elevate other’s voices

~ I love that I know who I am, and that I am proud of who I am

~ I love that I laugh more than I cry

~ I love that I am still here, even after all of the dark days I wasn’t sure I could go on

~ I love that I feel appreciated and respected in my work

~ I love that my work finally supports my core beliefs

~ I love that while I give up on a lot of things, I haven’t given up on what is most important to me

~ I love that I stand for other people

~ I love that I believe ALL people are equal and that everyone should have the same rights regardless of the color of their skin, how they identify, who they love, how old they are, if they carry a diagnosis or disability, or what they believe

~ I love that I have never grown up, and am still a kid at heart

~ I love that I never settled for a marriage that wouldn’t have been right for me

~ I love that I am childless because it leaves me more to give to others

~ I love that I am a woman

~ I love that I am Demi-Bi

~ I love that I am willing to explore possibilities in this world and that I can and have changed my world view based on new information

~ I love that I err on the side of seeing good in people, but also that I can recognize when it’s time to let them go

~ I love that I am quirky

~ I love that I don’t feel like I need to put on a show for others and can just be myself

~ I love that I know my faults and my limits (most of the time)

~ I love that I am satisfied with simple things

~ I love that I have come up with so many wonderful things!

What do you love about yourself?
