Mornings
I talked in an earlier post about the fact that I am not a morning person. Office mornings are exceptionally hard because I have to be at the office by 8am, and if given a choice, I wouldn’t even be awake by that time most days. But the reality is, the office hours don’t run off my personal body clock so I need to suck it up. Especially since my drive is 20-25 minutes.
I’ve put together a morning routine that gets me out the door in 45 minutes or less. The biggest key is preparing in advance. On Sundays I put together my outfits for the week, including accessories, so I don’t have to try to figure out what I’m wearing. I also try to prep the food for my lunches as well. The night before, I pack my tote bag, make sure my laptop is ready to go (if I brought it home), pack my lunch, and get everything out that I will need in the morning.
I try to get up with my 6:45am alarm, though it’s more likely that I won’t actually get up until 7. I roll out of bed and head straight to the bathroom where I weigh, brush & floss my teeth, wash my face, etc. Then I head back in my room to make my bed. Once that’s done it’s time to get dressed, do my hair, put on jewelry and makeup and log my weigh-in on Noom. If I’ve got time, I’ll check both my personal and work emails before grabbing my bags and heading out the door around 7:30.
Once I get to work, I put together my breakfast and eat while I’m responding to emails and planning out my day. Occasionally there I mornings where I don’t make it out of bed by 7am, so I end up skipping something… usually making my bed, or putting on makeup.
On the days that I work from home, I generally roll out of bed around 7:45am so I can start working at 8. And I’ll be completely honest, unless I have meetings planned, I don’t always get dressed on WFH days.
