Reassessing My Goals
When I made my goals for 2023, I was in a very different place in my life. Now that I am in my third life phase for this year, I figure it’s time to reassess my goals for the rest of the year.
My original reading goals were as follows:
- Read 75 books (done)
- Read 36 Library books (27/36)
- Read 48 eARCs and post reviews (33/48)
- Read 24 books from my 100 Book Project (22/24)
- Re-read 12 books (6/12)
- Complete 12 series (8/12)
- Read 12 nonfiction books (2/12)
- Increase my Net Galley ratio to 57% (50%, up from 34%)
I’ve already completed my goal of 75 books and am close to some of my other goals, but I will be setting aside my nonfiction goal. I do have some in my current TBR pile, but I’m not going to readjust to focus more on nonfiction at this point. The rest of my reading goals will stand as they are.
Outside of reading is where my goals have gone way off track. I mean, I was originally planning to buy a new car, move into my own place and attempt to secure a big promotion. Obviously none of that went down. But it helped me to reassess look at what I really need to be focusing on.
So now I have a few different goals for the remainder of the year.
- Get a new phone plan
- Create a budget that includes a pay-off plan and the rebuilding of an emergency savings
- Maintain a healthy self-care routine
- Increase program attendance to 5 or more
