Review~ A Dish Best Served Hot

I’m really enjoying this series by Natalie Cana! I know there is a third book out now, but I’m hoping she continues with all of the Vega siblings and we get books for the twins as well… and maybe some of the cousins.
Saint is one of my favorite heroes so far this year. He is devoted to his family and adores his daughter. He doesn’t push Rosie or make her feel like there’s something wrong with her, and he is so supportive, willing to battle for her.
I actually love the entire Vega family and how much they give back to their communities. My only issue is that they all seem to have communication issues when it comes to things that might be painful.
Lola is my hero and I want to be just like her when I grow up. She is comfortable in her own skin and passionate about fighting for her community. But she also hides some insecurities when it comes to her body, but she fights through them and owns it. While she doesn’t agree with the path her father and brother took, she is not ashamed of where she came from.
Because I am a sucker for second chance romance, I love that Saint and Lola were a couple in their teens. And I also love how accepting Saint was that Lola is bisexual even as a teen. They each made choices that pulled them apart, but the feelings are obviously still there from the moment they meet again.
This story touches on social justice issues, as well as mental health issues. It is filled with love and laughter, and even some tears and tragic moments. I can’t wait to start the next book to see where it takes us.
