State of the Resistance~ April
It’s time to look again at what I’m doing to RESIST what’s happening here in the US.
Continuing forms of resistance:
Blog- Uplifting Voices, Recommended Reading & State of the Resistance Posts (plus some discussions)
Reading- emphasis on banned and diverse books, utilizing my libraries
Social Media- Reposting information and posting my own resistance posts
Emailing Reps (I don’t have a phone so can’t call)
Boycotting- Walmart, Target, Coca Cola, PepsiCo (including FritoLay), McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Nestle Brands, Amazon, Hershey’s, Hobby Lobby, Chik-fil-a, Dairy Queen, Baskin Robbins, most General Mills brands, Starbucks, Dominoes, Unilever brands (excluding Ben & Jerry’s), REI, Air BnB
New forms of resistance:
Time for Myself- I’ve started limiting my social media exposure on weekends to give myself a bit of a break and allow my mental health to recover a bit. I generally still check-in at least once per day, but I spend less time doom scrolling.
New Boycotts- Companies manufacturing in El Salvador (Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Playtex and more)
Indivisible- I joined my local Indivisible group to find more ways to resist locally, as well as find support of like-minded people.
