In My Life:

I realized after I published last week’s Sunday Post that I completely forgot to fill out this part of the post and left it blank, so I’ll try to include everything from the past 2 weeks here this time.

Here’s what should have been included last week: we survived the heatwave, my promotion went into effect, and I am crazy busy at work while trying to hire two more people to round out the office.

And now for this past week: We had Monday off for the holiday, which was very nice because the rest of the week was a whirlwind. I had an all-day training on Wednesday & Thursday, and was working on all of my other stuff on my breaks. Tuesday and Friday were both spent in meetings and interviews. Not only am I interviewing people for the open Admin Assistant position in my office, but I was also helping to interview for the open Admin position in one of our other offices as well. That equaled a lot of back to back to back interviews, all done virtually.

But the good news in all of that is that I made an offer that was accepted for the other open position in my office, and we’ve both pretty much narrowed down our choices for the Admin positions to 2 people, so we should make offers early next week. Which is good, because I’m on vacation starting Wednesday.

In non-work related news, I got my second COVID vaccine dose on Friday. I’m feeling a little off as I write this on Saturday, but not horrible, so I think I’m going to get by with another mild reaction (fingers crossed). Of course my arm hurts again, but it’s tolerable.

I was really surprised by the response I got to my TTT post this week. It felt really good to know that I am not alone in some of the things that I feel.

Last weekend, I got a lot of reading done, but my week was so full and busy at work, that I basically just crashed after work and barely touched a book. And then all I’ve really done is sleep all day today (Saturday). I plan to devote the bulk of my vacation time next week to reading.
