The Week Ahead

The Week Ahead~ 5/19/2024

So I wanted to try something a little different. Instead of focusing on the past with a weekly wrap up, I want to try focusing on the present/ near future with a look ahead at the coming week. Hopefully this will help to shift my mindset a bit and get me excited about what’s coming.

Schedule

I honestly don’t have anything scheduled this week aside from shuttling my brother and sister-in-law to work (Tuesday through Friday). Mom has no appointments and I have no interviews, so other than the shuttle service, the only other thing is a grocery run on Friday.

Goals

These probably won’t look like big goals to anyone else, but for me they are huge right now.

  • Take a shower
  • Finish a book
  • Post at least twice
  • Read at least 4 days
  • Eat at least 1 meal daily
  • Create new resume

Projects

Craft-wise, I am working on a few painting projects (ornaments, bookmarks & coasters) and a latchhook rug. I haven’t touched them in a while, but I am hopeful that I will get back to them this week.

I’m also putting together my own personal Pride Month. So far I’ve pulled together a list of LGBTQIA+ themed movies and have enough to watch one each day. If I’m still not working, I may throw some TV shows in there as well. And if I can finish some books this month, I want to focus on LGBTQIA+ books in June as well.

Books

I am so close to finishing The Right to Write by Julia Cameron, so I am hopeful that I will finish it this week.

As far as other books are concerned, I’d like to make some progress on several others. I have a few that are over 50% completed, so I’d like to get them closer to 75% by the end of the week. Again, not putting a ton of pressure on myself this week and just trying to ease back into things.

Thoughts

This week, I’m really just trying to get back on track. My spoons are almost all taken up with the depression and exhaustion, but I need to start getting them back and using them for more productive things. So I’m going to take things slowly and hopefully get back on track and get things done. Hopefully this will also help me be prepared to return to work once I finally find a job. I don’t pretend that things are suddenly going to be good and everything will be alright now, there is still every possibility that things will get bad again before they get better. I hope not, but it’s possible.
