Top Ten Tuesday~ Favorite Relationships

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Every week, Jana assigns a topic and creates a post for everyone to link to.

This week’s topic is: Favorite Character Relationships. While I love couples and romantic relationships, I wanted to focus on some fabulous friendships. There are some truly amazing friend groups out there who don’t necessarily get the recognition they deserve, especially when there is romance happening all around them on the page.

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
The Super Six- Alex, June, Nora, Henry, Bea, and Pez:
Alex and Henry bring together their amazing support people into one big supportive group of friends who are amazing together. This couple brings their best friends and sisters into the mix for the most solid support system around… not even international scandals can shake their foundations.

The Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts
Mac, Emma, Laurel & Parker
Best friends from childhood, now business partners, these ladies have each other’s backs and help each other navigate their lives and romances.

Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston
Rosie, Annie & Quinn
Having best friends you can trust with your secrets and are willing to stage an epic homecoming campaign to save you from a guy who can’t take no for an answer is priceless.
**And honorable mention to Vance & Imogen- she calls him on his shit and helps him to understand that he deserves real friends too.

The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon
Samiah, Taylor & London
While these ladies only met recently, their shared experience makes them instant friends, ready to support and cheer each other on as they reach their career goals (and find love)

Here to Stay by Adriana Herrera
The Gotham Exiles: Julia, Rocco, Jose, Tariq, Dani & Salome
This group of friends starts out with only one thing in common- they all used to live in New York and are now living in Dallas. While most of them work at the same place, it’s the New York connection that brings them together, and their connections lead to solid friendships and found family.

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons
Weston & Rudy
Having a friend who is there for you when your life takes an unexpected turn is valuable; knowing that friend supports you in everything you do, doesn’t look at you differently, and won’t hold you back is priceless.

LifeL1ke Trilogy by Jay Kauffman
Evie, Lemon & Cricket
Friends like family who keep fighting no matter what the odds are the best friends to have. And when those friends still believe in you after you take a bit of a detour, that’s when you know it’s real.

Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones
Charley & Cookie
When you live a life that is beyond expectations, it’s helpful to have a best friend who knows everything there is to know about you and isn’t phased by the bizarre and unusual.

Daughter of Smoke & Bone Series by Laini Taylor
Karou & Zuzana
Another instance when having a best friend who isn’t phased by the bizarre and unusual is appreciated, especially when they are willing to battle monsters and angels with you.

The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
Gansy, Ronan, Adam, Noah & Blue
Friends on a common mission who accept each other for who they each are, whatever that may involve. This is a group who would truly not succeed without each other.
