Top Ten Tuesday~ Made Me Want More
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This has always been one of my favorite linkups and I knew I had to include it in my weekly posting schedule.
This week’s topic is “books that made you want more like them.” I’ve translated this as books where I want the story to continue, where I would like to see a stand-alone get a sequel… a duology become a trilogy… a trilogy become a series… a series to never end. Seriously thought, I love series and there are some amazing stand alones out there where I really would like to a continuation of the story.
The Start of Me and You, The Map from Here to There
I was so excited to get a second book about Max & Paige that took up from where the first book left off… but now I need even more! I want to see where they end up after college (or even during college)… are they together, are they friends, to they get married and have a future? Ok, maybe I don’t need to know the last one, but I do want to see where life takes their relationship next.
Starry Eyes, Alex Approximately
These two aren’t a series, and aren’t even related except that they have the same author, but I put them together because I want more for the same reason. I fell in love with the pairings of Lennon & Zorie and Porter & Bailey, and I just want more of each of their stories. They found their way to each other, now I want to see how their relationships progress past high school.
Year One, Of Blood and Bone, The Rise of Magicks
In this trilogy we saw the world fall apart, then start to rebuild; the battle between good and evil; all that really good stuff. But now I want to see how the world moves forward after the big battle. Now that they have saved the world, where do Duncan and Fallon go to build their lives and how do they settle into normalcy?
My Favorite Half-Night Stand
I want to see the romances of all the friends in the friend group! I loved Reid & Millie’s story, but I want to see everyone else’s stories too! Especially Chris and Rayme. And then there’s Ed and Shaylene… and Alex needs to find someone!
Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
I adore Josh & Hazel and I just want their story to go on and on. I want to see their quirky parenting and all of the animals and how many kids they ultimately end up having. I am sure that life is never dull and that there are all kinds of adventures in store for their family.
Clap When You Land
I want to see what happens with Yahaira and Camino as they get to know each other better. And what is life like for Camino in the US, does she find a place to belong?
My Life Next Door, The Boy Most Likely To
I just really want more of the Garrett family! They are such a fun, rowdy, loving bunch and I really want to spend more time with them. There are a lot of kids… we could slowly get all of their stories and watch them all find love.
We Didn’t Ask for This
Did everyone who pledged to make changes actually make them? What happened to all of the kids who were involved in chaining themselves to the doors? Did the relationships that started during the lock-in continue afterward? And the friendships? And did the bully ever realize the error of his ways after his experience? I have so many questions!
In Her Sights, Risk It All
I know that there are more stories coming in this series for the other sisters, but I’m impatient and just want to get to them already! The second book came out in 2019, and we’ve been dealing with the pandemic in the interim, so I completely understand why we haven’t seen the 3rd book yet… but I’m really hoping it comes soon!
Among the Beasts and Briars
I love the world that Ashley Poston created and I just want more stories in this world. And yeah I want to see where Cerys and her Fox end up.

I’ve heard great things about Year One!
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-books-i-loved-that-made-me-want-more-books-like-them/
The whole trilogy is so good!
Year One sounds great and I’ve long wanted to read Starry Eyes- it sounds fabulous.
I loved them both! Nora Roberts and Jenn Bennett are two of my favorite authors. I consider them each to be one of the best in their chosen genres.
