Unboxing~ The Bookworm Box~ June 2021
In the past, I’ve always watched people do these great unboxing posts and videos of their subscription boxes, and I’ve always wanted to do that. Both be in a position to get monthly subscription boxes, and to share the unboxings each month.
When selecting which boxes to subscribe to, it was important to me to find things that a) were things that I loved, and b) fit with my goals and values. I’m happy to say that the boxes I have chosen do just that.
In this post I’m sharing the only book box that I currently receive (I’m on the waitlist for Owl Crate, but who knows how long that will take), The Bookworm Box. I get the Young Adult version, though they also offer an Adult version of the box. The box is put together by Colleen Hoover and company. While this box isn’t going to give you a lot of the glam and big name titles with special editions, they do donate ALL profits to different charities each month, so that made it the perfect box for me. Plus I get introduced to some lesser known authors each month.
Each box comes with a book, bookmark, coordinated candle, pen, a specialty item, and assorted swag which is usually bookmarks and/or stickers from previous releases by featured authors.
Let’s see what came in June’s box…
This month’s candle is extra glittery and smells kind of cinnamony. I like it!
This month’s gift is a DIY project with this cool wooden Book Nerd plaque that you can paint (it comes with a selection of paints. When I have a moment of two to paint it, I’ll have to share a picture of the finished product.
Next is this month’s bookmark, which I think is pretty.
And finally this month’s book. The Hunt by Frost Kay.
Death marked her from her very first breath.
Being sired by a Madrid is supposed to be a blessing, but for Tempest, it’s a curse that leaves her orphaned, penniless, and enslaved to a blood thirsty crown on the brink of war.
Found too unruly to become a ward of the court, she’s thrust into the care of the King’s Hounds – the assassins and warriors responsible for protecting the kingdom. Driven by rage and an oath to avenge her mother’s memory, Tempest throws herself into training.
But becoming the first ever female assassin isn’t enough. Now, she must obtain the heart of her kingdom’s most feared enemy – the jester – a deadly shapeshifter hidden in a land twisted by myth and darkness.
Revenge is never easy or cheap. Tempest is willing to sacrifice everything to see justice served. Even her own soul and freedom.
Each month I’ll be sharing what arrives in my Bookworm box, as well as my other subscription boxes (The Sisterhood Box, The CatLadyBox and Nadine West).
