Waking Up

I am not a morning person, I never have been, and at this point, I don’t think I ever will be. I also have an issue sleeping, so I tend to wake up very groggy most mornings. It’s a rough way to start the day.

I know that I have a tendency to either snooze my alarm (or just turn it off and go back to sleep), so I try to plan ahead and set several alarms at 15 minute intervals. My first alarm goes off about 45 minutes before I need to get up, and most of the time I am still dreaming when this happens, so I don’t even know what it is.

Ideally, I need 45 minutes to get ready in the morning. But I’ve gotten pretty good at prepping the night before, so I can do it in 30 minutes if needed. And I would say about half the time, I need to get ready in 30 minutes.

Since I know a lot of my morning grogginess stems from my sleep issues, I am trying to work on them in order to make waking up a bit easier on me. I may never become a morning person, but I’d at least like to not be a morning grump.
