Life

This week was better. I mean, at least I was a bit more productive and I actually read and finished a few books. Still nothing like I usually read, but better than last week for certain. I need to make some decisions about a few things and I’m having difficulty doing that with the state of the world, because at the rate things are going my choices may not even matter any more. At least if those who are currently running the show have their way. I should probably write it all out and get it on paper to give my brain a small break (I mean, it’s never quiet, it will find something else to lock in on, but maybe it will be a fun hyperfocus).

Next weekend is the April event of Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon, so I’ll be prepping for that this week. That should help with both changing my focus and getting my reading back on track. Since I’m in the Pacific time zone, the readathon starts at 5am on Saturday morning (4/18) and ends at 5am on Sunday morning (4/19). Some years I try to go the entire 24 hours, other years I don’t. This year will definitely be a year that I need to take breaks. At least, that’s how I’m feeling now, we’ll see how I feel next week. The readathon has gone through a lot of changes in the 10-ish years I’ve been participating, but the 3 annual events are always the highlights of my year.
