Weekly Wrap Up~ 8/12/23
This is the post where I recap what I’ve been doing throughout the week and share what I plan to post about next week. I will be linking up Kim @ Caffeinated Reviewer and her weekly Sunday Post feature and Kathryn @ The Book Date for It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?
This week I am also joining Marlene @ Reading Reality for Stacking the Shelves. Due to my current circumstances, this will not be a regular addition at this time, but will pop in when I receive something new.
What Went Down This Week:
Notes from a Life:
As you saw above, I’ve added Stacking the Shelves into the mix this week because I got some new eARCs. While I am not actively seeking ARCs at this time, I am part of the Harlequin Blog Tours and will be participating again this Fall. I also received an email from the publisher offering me an eARC of an anticipated 2024 release that I couldn’t resist!
I decided to go ahead and just post all of the books I’m currently reading rather than just the first 3 (1 in each format). It may take a little longer to add the covers each week, but it’s more accurate. I have a system in place where I start with the lead book in each format on Saturday, then add a book in each format each day throughout the week. I read as much as I want from the lead book every day, and a chapter of each of the rest of the books. As I finish a book, I do not add another one until the start of the next week, so by Friday, I might be reading 21 books (if I haven’t finished anything) or I may be reading less, depending on how many I finish. It’s weird, but it works for me and my ADHD/OCD quirks.
In other bookish/bloggish news, I finally finished my blog roll page. Of course then I finally signed up with Feedly and found a few more blogs, so I need to update it already. I also completely redid my about me page. My current project is doing a physical inventory of all the books I own and comparing it to my Goodreads shelves. I’ve already found 35 books that were never added to Goodreads and I’m not even halfway with the physical shelves. Who knows how many books will still be listed on Goodreads that I’ve purged but didn’t remove. I’m also creating my own personal spreadsheet as well, because I like spreadsheets. I’ve decided that my next project will be creating a page for the blog dedicated to my 100 book project.
Speaking of Feedly, I’ve already reached the 100 blog limit for the free account. Since I obviously can’t upgrade, I’m also creating an Inoreader account for the overflow (their free limit is 150, so if I find more than 250 blogs to follow, you know I have a problem). Does anyone use Inoreader? I had never heard of them until I started researching for something to take the place of Bloglovin’.
I have already written a lot, so I’ll keep this last bit brief. I had a good week, very productive, decent mental health. I have an interview scheduled for next week. It’s for a part-time position, but anything is better than nothing. As promised last week, I finished several books this week and I have a few more that are almost done. After a long string of 3 star reads with a few scattered 4’s, I finally had two 5-star reads back to back that I loved and I am enjoying several more that are in progress.

I loved the Divergent series. I keep all my books on Goodreads and seem to constantly be adding shelves. Have a great week!
Updating a blog roll is a never ending task, isn’t it? Which reminds me, I need to update mine again as well.
I haven’t read any of your books, but do enjoy them.
I haven’t heard of Inoreader but feedly is one I used to use and need to refresh and get back to using…
Hope you have a good reading week!
That’s certainly an interesting way of reading, I’m a monogamist myself, but whatever works 🙂
I didn’t know that about Feedly, which I use, but I follow a lot more than 100 blogs, perhaps I have a grandfathered account or something.
The Harlequin Tour titles look good.
Wishing you a happy reading week
Wow! You must have an amazing memory if you can keep the plots and characters of up to 21 books straight in your mind. I use LibraryThing to keep my books organized. It should be a listing of all the books I own. I am quite consistent in adding new books to it. I use Goodreads for the books I am reading and have read which make a much smaller total. I also use Feedly but didn’t realize there was a limit to the blogs I can follow. Perhaps I am under a hundred now. I know I went through the whole bunch a while ago and unfollowed blogs that hadn’t posted in a while. I have read a few of the titles you list but most of them are new to me. I hope you enjoy all of your books. Happy reading!
Wow, I’m impressed that you can juggle so many books at once! I would definitely get confused. I am a monogamous reader 🙂 Just one book in print and one on audio at a time – I like to fully immerse myself in a book.
Of those on your list, I enjoyed Divergent and Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes – just saw a trailer this weekend for the upcoming movie adaptation!
Enjoy your books this week –
Sue
