Why I Blog
Since I am focusing on all things blog right now, I thought I would take some time and share some of the reasons that i continue to blog about books, rather than shifting to another platform.
My initial blogging life came in fits and starts before I found moderate success as a weight loss blogger. When my life underwent some dramatic changes, this was no longer a viable blog focus for me. But, during this time I found myself turning to books for comfort and rekindled my love of reading in a very big way. Since I still loved blogging, I shifted my focus to books.
These days, a lot of people have stopped blogging. Some have switched to “Bookstagram,” promoting books with pictures and stories. Others have gone to “BookTok,” sharing video reviews. Still others are on “BookTube.” But I’ve stayed put and continued to write out my thoughts on this blog.
I think the biggest reason for this is because I feel more comfortable expressing myself in writing rather than the spoken word. Though yes, I do talk like I write, with an odd mix of formal and informal language. (I even text with punctuation and correct capitalization).
The other reason is that I feel that it just makes sense to talk about books with the written word. Yes, even audio books, because they are still the written word.
And, because I’m the only person in my life who is obsessed with books, I also blog to have someone to talk to about them.
