Friday Memes~ 9/15/23

I talked about doing more memes again, and here we go! There are several Friday memes floating around the book blogosphere and I have decided to join back in with most of them.

First up is Book Beginnings on Fridays, hosted by Gilion @ Rose City Reader

How it works:  Share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

The Friday 56 hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice **Freda has stated that she will not be hosting the link-up for the foreseeable future due to time constraints. Because I enjoy the meme, I will be continuing to post a “56” indefinitely. I am hoping that the link-up with resume, either on Freda’s blog or with a new host.

How it works:

Grab a book, any book
*Turn to Page 56 or 56% in your Ereader
(If you want to improvise, go ahead!)
*Find a snippet, but no spoilers!
I will be using the same book each week for both of these prompts. This week’s book is Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka
Beginning:
“ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE…”
56:

The best I can hope for is faking it.

Next up is Book Blogger Hop hosted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.
About Book Blogger Hop:
The first iteration of the Book Blogger Hop, which was started in March 2010 by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books, ended on December 31, 2012. On February 15, 2013, Billy reintroduced the hop with Jennifer’s approval. The hop will begin on a Friday of each week and end on a Thursday of the following week. Every week, there will be a prompt with a book-related query. The aim of the blog hop is to provide bloggers with an opportunity to follow other blogs, discover new books, make friends with other bloggers, and gain new followers for their own sites.
This week’s prompt:

How long does it usually take you to finish a book? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Answer:

I don’t have a simple answer for this one because it depends on so many factors. How long is the book? What format is it in? Has it captured my attention? I can read a book in a day or 6 months depending on how I’m feeling about it. I would say average, for physical and ebooks is 1-2 weeks. I get through audio books much faster because I can multitask while reading, so usually 3-5 days. But this is all assuming I have the time/inclination to devote to reading as well.
