I always see people posting about great bookish events like conferences, conventions and signings. I have never been to any of these (I have been to 2 different conferences, but they were not book conferences). All of the events I see tend to be on the East Coast or in the Midwest. I rarely see any big events on the West Coast (except Comicon, and that is pretty niche as far as books). And the signings are always in Seattle, San Diego or Portland (funnily enough I used to live in two of these places before I was in touch with the bookish world).

I currently live in the middle of nowhere, Oregon, so Portland could happen, but I would need to stay the night. Seattle is also drivable, but would require at least two nights. (Driving in the dark is difficult for me now). And again, I only see signings, which are usually just one author, maybe two or three, at a time.

What I really want to do is go to a convention or conference and meet multiple authors and attend multiple signings. While I would love to travel to one, travel is just not in the cards for me at the moment (or in the foreseeable future). Are there events on the West Coast? Am I just missing them?
