Friday Memes~ 2/23/24
I talked about doing more memes again, and here we go! There are several Friday memes floating around the book blogosphere and I have decided to join back in with most of them.
First up is Book Beginnings on Fridays, hosted by Gilion @ Rose City Reader
How it works: Share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

The Friday 56 was started by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. Freda is currently taking a break from hosting, so in the interim it is being hosted by Anne @ My Head is Full of Books.
How it works:
There is blood under my fingernails. I wonder how many of my people I’ve killed this time.
Without warning, it’s snowing.
The first iteration of the Book Blogger Hop, which was started in March 2010 by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books, ended on December 31, 2012. On February 15, 2013, Billy reintroduced the hop with Jennifer’s approval. The hop will begin on a Friday of each week and end on a Thursday of the following week. Every week, there will be a prompt with a book-related query. The aim of the blog hop is to provide bloggers with an opportunity to follow other blogs, discover new books, make friends with other bloggers, and gain new followers for their own sites.
- How do you organize your bookshelves? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Review)
Answer:
I change up my organization from time to time, but I always separate my read books from my unread books and my nonfiction books from fiction books. Currently, I have my fiction books further separated by age group, with those geared towards adults on one set of shelves and those for Young Adult and Middle Grade on another. I don’t separate by genre or alphabetize my shelves. I group series together, but not necessarily authors. Other than the broad separations, there is no other method of organization used.
Your broad categories are already much more organised than my current approach, I wouldn’t even call what I have a system xD And thanks for sharing quotes from ‘A Curse So Dark and Lonely’, I’ve been curious about that book for a while and that beginning really drew me in! I hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

It’s fun to join in on the memes. It’s a great way to see what other book bloggers are reading and doing.
Wait. What? How many people were killed this time? Well, I wasn’t expecting that!!
That’s an interesting way to organise. I have no organisation. I have bookshelves all over the house and they all have random books on them. I do have a few series that are together but that’s about it!
Have a great weekend!

What a compelling opening! I do want to read this one. I’ve heard good things about Brigid Kemmerer’s books. I used to separate my unread from my read books, but I don’t anymore. The exception being the shelf in my bedroom which is all TBR books. It’s supposed to be my immediate TBR shelf, but being a mood reader means some of those books have been there awhile. I’m too much of an organized person to not organize my shelves, my husband even more so. He’s the reason my shelves have genre restrictions. I have too many books, and it’s so much easier to find something quickly with them in some form of order. It’s just how my brain works. My daughter didn’t inherit out our organizational gene. LOL I hope you have a great weekend!
I like your organization. I have never changed my organization. LOL!! Creature of habit!!
Glad you can do that. 🙂
Thank you for sharing.
