In My Life:

This week wasn’t super busy. I actually had pockets of free time where I could work on decorating my office and trying to get caught up on things that I couldn’t get to while I was interviewing so much. My new coordinator started on Monday and has been learning all the ins and outs of their role. I also hired a new Admin who will be starting in a couple of weeks. There is one more position that I would like to add to my office team down the road, but I am really excited to see where we are heading in the future!

Aside from work, mom got her second dose of the COVID vaccine and thankfully hasn’t had any issues or reactions to it. Of course our county is seeing a huge spike in new cases of the Delta variant, and has reported record case numbers the last couple of days (more than even at the start of the pandemic). Masks are still required in all medical facilities, and mask requirements in state buildings have been reinstated. But in most places, masks are no longer required, so it’s a little concerning. While I’m fully vaccinated, and mom just has the 2 week incubation period until she is fully vaccinated, my brother & sister-in-law both refuse to get the vaccine and don’t mask unless it’s required.

On the Blog:

I have pretty much been falling asleep every night when I get home from work, so have barely been getting my posts up on time. This means I have done nothing behind the scenes. At some point I will finally finish all of the stuff I want to get done.

Reading:

If you read my post about the slump, you know that I decided to just let it be and stop stressing over my lack of reading progress. No more reading plans, no more pressure, just reading what I want when I want, with a goal of at least a chapter a day. Maybe the lack of pressure will help me to read more, maybe it won’t. The point is that I’ve finally made peace with the fact that I’m not reading as much as I used to, and that’s ok.
