Top Ten Tuesday~ Not About the Books
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Every week, Jana assigns a topic and creates a post for everyone to link to.
This week’s topic is: Non-Book Freebie. This one was a tough one for me, I had a hard time figuring out something to talk about other than books that I could do in a top ten format. I considered a lot of topics from Taylor Swift songs to movies to singers to dog breeds. I thought about PC games, FRIENDS episodes, places I’ve worked, vacation spots, desserts, and flowers. So many ideas went through my head before I was able to narrow it down to just one… things I collect
- Cows~ When I was 16, I started collecting cow-themed items. While I don’t actively add to my collection any longer (and have massively thinned out what I have), I still have quite a few cows mixed into my decor.
- Eeyore~ I am a fan of most Disney characters, but Eeyore is by far my favorite. While I have thinned out my clothing collection featuring Eeyore, I still have quite a few stuffed versions, as well as a selection of figurines.
- Funko~ My Funko collection is not large (and actually got smaller when I removed the ones from that wizard series), but it is growing. Right now it is mostly Disney, but I also have a whole collection of minis from The Office.
- Keychains~ I don’t really know when or why I started collecting keychains. I just sort of ended up with a bunch of fun themed keychains. I have Disney themed ones, book themed ones, cats, Bi-pride colors, hedgehogs, etc. Most of theme are hanging on my walls rather than on a keychain.
- Bookmarks~ I started out just getting cute bookmarks to mark my page, but it evolved into a collection, with many that will never be used between the pages of a book because they are so beautiful and I don’t want them to be damaged. I do have some that I use in my books as well, but most of my collection is more to admire.
- Cats~ While I wish this was referring to actual cats, unfortunately I’m not in the position to collect them at the moment, lol. Instead, I collect cat-themed items. I have wall art, figurines, mugs, various décor pieces, enamel pins, jewelry, etc. that is all cat themed,
- Enamel Pins~ I initially collected Disney pins from the theme parks, but a couple of years ago, I started collecting all sorts of enamel pins. About half of my collection is cat or book themed (or a combination of the two).
- Mugs~ Over time I have acquired quite a few mugs with different themes- cats, books, Eeyore; or places that I have visited.
- Throws~ With the lack of heat in my house, this collection is quite useful. I have 2 bins full of throws that I alternately curl up in or add to my bed with the blankets.
- Snowflakes~ This particular collection generally doesn’t come out until Christmas every year, but most of my holiday décor is snowflake themed. I often select snowflake themed wrapping paper and cards as well.
You have such cool collections! And, yeah, throws are super useful during the winter for sure.

Wow, you collect such a variety of things! I don’t really have many collections as such, I have a small collection of snow globes from some of the countries I’ve visited and a collection of bookish art prints, but that’s about it.

Cool collections! I wish I had more space to collect things. All my shelves are filled with books!
