Unboxing~ The Bookworm Box March 2021
In the past, I’ve always watched people do these great unboxing posts and videos of their subscription boxes, and I’ve always wanted to do that. Both be in a position to get monthly subscription boxes, and to share the unboxings each month.
When selecting which boxes to subscribe to, it was important to me to find things that a) were things that I loved, and b) fit with my goals and values. I’m happy to say that the boxes I have chosen do just that.
In this post I’m sharing the only book box that I currently receive (I’m on the waitlist for Owl Crate, but who knows how long that will take), The Bookworm Box. I get the Young Adult version, though they also offer an Adult version of the box. The box is put together by Colleen Hoover and company. While this box isn’t going to give you a lot of the glam and big name titles with special editions, they do donate ALL profits to different charities each month, so that made it the perfect box for me. Plus I get introduced to some lesser known authors each month.
Each box comes with a book, bookmark, coordinated candle, pen, a specialty item, and assorted swag which is usually bookmarks and/or stickers from previous releases by featured authors.
Here are all of the fun things that came in the March box.
This month’s bookmark. I love how colorful it is!
The candles are made by the Bookworm Box team and match up with the book each month.
You can’t really tell in this picture, and I didn’t get a shot of me modeling it, but this adorable print is an apron. It’s super cute! And even if I don’t wear it as an apron, I could put it to use as an Instagram backdrop.
And because I never got a chance to share the fun items from my previous two boxes, I decided to share the throw from my January box, and the bookends from February.
And finally this month’s book: Alma Underwood is Not a Kleptomaniac by Lacey Dailey. It’s gotten good reviews so far, and the story sounds like it should be good, so I’m definitely looking forward to reading it.
Here’s the synopsis:
Quirky, big-hearted Alma Underwood has a knack for pocketing the various objects people leave behind at her parents’ small-town motel. From old ticket stubs… to the glue that comes with a toupee, Alma possesses a passion for recusing forgotten treasures—even if nobody else sees it that way.
Her greatest treasure is found, not under a motel bed or stashed inside a drawer, but inside an old, abandoned train car that rests behind her house. After hoisting herself into the train car she’s dubbed Mo, Alma stumbles upon Rumor.
With nothing but a duffle bag and a quilt to keep him warm, it’s crystal clear Rumor Rawlings isn’t just hanging out in the train car for a place to escape.
He’s living in it.
Rumor’s wit and relentless perseverance charm the part of Alma programmed to rescue. Just as she does with all the other treasures she finds… Alma brings him home.
On a quest to find his mother, Rumor is searching for a treasure of his own, and who better to help him find it than her?
Each month I’ll be sharing what arrives in my Bookworm box, as well as my other subscription boxes (The Sisterhood Box and The CatLadyBox).
