In My Life:

This week was pretty much like last week, though I was actually awake for a bit more. And the weather has gotten much warmer… high 70’s, low 80’s this weekend, and lots of sunshine! But even with being awake more, I just still couldn’t get myself to read. I haven’t had a slump this long in years! I really hope next weekend’s readathon will help me get it together!

On the work front, over the last several months, I have been helping to cover some of our offices that have had AA (Administrative Assistant) openings (virtually), and have been assisting in the training of new AA’s and providing support to them after training. I had been thinking, almost jokingly, to myself earlier in the week that they should create a Lead AA position for me (we have leads for several of our other positions) because I was doing all of this extra work (which I volunteered for, but still). On Friday, our Recruiter, who also acts as the AA mentor, told me that she had just gotten permission to create a Lead AA position for me and, if I was interested, it would go into effect on May 1st. We had never had a discussion about this possibility before this, and I hadn’t said a word to anyone about it. I feel like I just manifested myself a promotion. I really enjoy this job, and it makes me happy feeling like I can make a difference, even though I don’t work directly with our clients. I don’t know that I’ve mentioned it on here, but I work for a non-profit that provides to supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities. And after close to a year, I still feel like I’ve finally found a position that feels right for me.

On the Blog:

If you stopped by last week, you might notice that I did indeed change the theme. It’s not as pretty as the last one, but the formatting is a lot better. Once I finally design a header, it should add some more personality to the site. I’m considering having it commissioned, so if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!
