Weekly Recap~ 6/3/23
This is the post where I recap what I’ve been doing throughout the week and share what I plan to post about next week. Starting in January 2023, I will be linking up Kim @ Caffeinated Reviewer and her weekly Sunday Post feature.
What Went Down This Week:
This week I tried something different, since I couldn’t keep going the way I have been. As I mentioned in my post last Sunday (Just Breathe), I really needed to focus on self care to try to get my mental health into a better place. So this week I stepped away from social media and focused on taking better care of myself. I incorporated deep breathing, stretching, meditation and a wake up routine this week. I plan to continue building on this throughout June.
I also decided to stop fighting against my current sleep cycle and embrace it while gradually adjusting my sleep and wake times. I started the week by being unable to fall asleep at night and not falling asleep until 2pm… this meant I woke up around 10pm and the cycle would just continue. So I decided to embrace that, but to try to stay awake a little later each day, but still allowing myself to sleep a full 8 hours, waking naturally. This should, hopefully, gradually shift things to where I am falling asleep later and later during the day and sleeping longer into the night. If this plan continues to work, I should be sleeping normally again in about a week and a half to two weeks. Along with that, I decided to just embrace my wake up time as though it were morning, eating breakfast and starting my day at night, and adjusting my meals accordingly. This should naturally shift with my sleep schedule as well and make sure that I am eating better.
Another positive note from this week is that my reading is pretty much back to normal after so few books completed in May. June should hopefully be much better, on all counts.

I very much hope your plan for changing your sleep patterns works! I’m in a very similar situation and am finding it incredibly hard to break my late, late night habit – given that it’s the one time I feel fully awake and less exhausted. So I think I need to be a lot more proactive about it:)). I’ve never read A Discovery of Witches, although I got partway through the series on TV. I hope the coming week is a better one!
