Goals

2026 Blogging Goals

As with my reading goals, I wanted to do a quick recap on what my blogging goals were for 2025 before I share my goals for 2026.

My goals for this past year were: focus on bookish content, post consistent updates, regular discussion posts, book features, and working on behind the scenes. Honestly, I did do all of these, though there is always more BTS stuff to work on.

For next year, I wanted to keep things simple.

Build Community

The intent of my blog was always to share my love of books and reading with others who also love books and reading. I am terrible about commenting and reaching out to people because I always feel stupid. This year I want to overcome my reservations and leave those potentially silly comments, to let people know that I’m reading their stuff and enjoying it, to interact more on my blog, others’ blogs, and social media

Meme Again

I miss participating in some of my favorite memes, so I want to jump back into some of them. I don’t necessarily want my entire blog to become memes again (it practically was at one point), but I do want to participate in some of them again (and maybe find some new ones?). Right now I’m looking at 3 days per week dedicated to memes.

Allow Some Free Space

I tend to get very structured (thanks brain!) and plan out my posts filling every day. I need the routine, but I also want to allow myself some space to not post as well. As I’m putting together my editorial calendar each month, I want to leave at least one day per week completely blank. If I’m inspired to post something that day, great. If I have extra reviews completed, great. If I have nothing to say on those days and don’t want to post anything, also great.

Be Genuine

While I have always been truthful about my life, what I’m reading, how I read, what I think about books and authors, etc; I haven’t always been genuine. In my quest to provide “smarter” posts that I thought would appeal to readers, I have forced topics or features that did not feel comfortable for me, or weren’t things that I am passionate about. This year I want all of my posts to come from the heart and not feel forced to fit some ideal I was chasing.

Have Fun

Blogging is supposed to be fun. It’s a hobby, not a job. I forgot that for a little while and was putting pressure on myself to produce content, and a certain type of content. I want to get back to silly posts about my bookish quirks alongside the more serious stuff. I want this to be a safe place for me, as well as for my readers.
