One of the things that I decided in 2022, was that I wanted to learn more about other cultures and religions and their celebrations. In December, I started exploring Hanukkah in addition to Christmas, which I have always celebrated secularly. This year I am interested in exploring some other celebrations are well.

There are several celebrations that I would like to learn more about this year, including Diwali, Holi, Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Naw-Ruz, & Kwanzaa. There are so many more that I will get to in the future, but these 6 will be my focus this year.

As I learn and understand more about these traditions, I am hoping that it will help me in understanding others and finding those pieces that are more alike than different in everyone. And maybe I can help spread that understanding to others as well.

I believe the more we learn and recognize how similar we all are, the less divided we will ultimately become. And this is my small part in the process.
