Life

I cannot seem to finish books lately! I’m reading, I’m just bouncing around to different books and not really latching on to one story that pulls me deep at the moment. And it’s not that I’m not enjoying any of the stories, because I am. I just can’t seem to focus, which is really frustrating, but also understandable.

I did download and join the Finch app this week, and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s a habit tracker/ mood booster and the graphics and premise are pretty cute. If any of you are on the app, let me know and I’ll share my friend code with you.

The only other real thing of note is that I’ve decided I’m going all out for my birthday this year. If you’ve been around a while, you know I love my birthday, but no one in my family is really into birthdays, so my last few have been pretty bleh. And since my 50th was not great, I wanted to make my 55th something special. So I am planning a week-long celebration kicking off with the Dewey’s Reverse Readathon on July 10th-11th and going though July 18th (my birthday is in the middle of the week). There will be themed days and a birthday BINGO. I also want to decorate my room with streamers and balloons and am creating some graphics to share on socials. I am hoping I can get access to the car on my actual birthday, so I can go somewhere fun, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull that off, so I will plan and alternate activity at home as well. I’m calling the whole thing Celebrate 55. And yes, it might be a bit extra, but I haven’t had a lot to celebrate in my life for a while and I really need something that brings me joy.
