Charity Spotlight~ The Trevor Project

One of the things that I am passionate about is giving back to the community, whether that be local, national, or international. While by no means the only way to give, one of ways to give back is through charitable organizations. Each month I will be featuring a different organization, starting with those I personally support, and moving on to those recommended by readers.

This month, I am featuring The Trevor Project. If you are not familiar with them, they provide support for LGBTQIA+ youth and are focused especially on suicide prevention. From their site:

Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.

In addition to their crisis hotline, they also offer training for educators and those who work in youth-serving fields.

As someone who has been on that edge, I definitely support organizations that help to lead people away from the edge. And as an organization that specializes in at-risk, LGBTQIA+ youth who often have nowhere else to turn, The Trevor Project has my full support.

To get involved, please visit their website, they have opportunities for volunteers and paid staff currently. You can also click here to donate.

Disclaimer: I do not work for The Trevor Project in any capacity and this is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
