Friday Memes~ 3/15/24
I talked about doing more memes again, and here we go! There are several Friday memes floating around the book blogosphere and I have decided to join back in with most of them.
First up is Book Beginnings on Fridays, hosted by Gilion @ Rose City Reader
How it works: Share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

The Friday 56 was started by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. Freda is currently taking a break from hosting, so in the interim it is being hosted by Anne @ My Head is Full of Books.
How it works:
I might have to kill somebody tonight.
But when the bus pulls up at Midtown, I’m nothing.
The first iteration of the Book Blogger Hop, which was started in March 2010 by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books, ended on December 31, 2012. On February 15, 2013, Billy reintroduced the hop with Jennifer’s approval. The hop will begin on a Friday of each week and end on a Thursday of the following week. Every week, there will be a prompt with a book-related query. The aim of the blog hop is to provide bloggers with an opportunity to follow other blogs, discover new books, make friends with other bloggers, and gain new followers for their own sites.
- On average, how long do you spend writing a review? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
Answer:
It honestly depends on the book and the impact it made on me. If I really loved a book, or if it was just meh for me, it can take a little longer to write reviews because I have to figure out what I want to say. Books that I enjoyed, but weren’t life altering are pretty easy for me to review. In general, I would say anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours on average.
I have the exact same thing with writing reviews. If it fit my expectations and was fine, I can knock that review out quickly, but the moment it gets more complex it can take me forever! Also, really got gripped by the opening of ‘On the Come Up’, so I’ll look it up! I hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

I’ve just started doing these Friday memes again. I invite you to join us on Saturday-Monday, if you like, for Sunday Salon each week.
Intriguing quotes!
I’m around 30/45 mins. It does depend on the book though and what is going on around me!!
Have a great weekend!

I write mine as soon as I am done with the book as it is fresh in my mind. Have an awesome weekend!
I always think writing reviews is harder than the actual job of it. I think I stall often so it seems like it takes me a long time to write a review.
It’s been a while since I’ve read one of Angie Thomas’s novels. This one seems interesting.
That second excerpt says so much with so few words. I really want to read On the Come Up. It’s been on my wish list for quite a while.
I can’t really say how long it takes me to review a book. I’m all over the place, depending on the book and other factors.
Well, that’s quite the opening line! 0.o
I guess it probably takes me longer to write a review for a book that I wasn’t crazy about. Strong feelings are helpful for motivation!
I listened to this on audiobook and that was an excellent decision because the production was amazing!
