Not Just About the Books

When I decided it was time to come back to blogging, I of course knew that I still wanted to talk about books. But I’ve also found that I want to talk about more than just books. I want to talk about trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I want to talk about what life is like after turning 50. And I occasionally want to talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with any of these. I considered starting another healthy lifestyle blog (which is where I got my blogging start over 10 years ago) and maybe a blog to talk about how 50 is only the beginning of life. But then I thought that would be a lot of work and I’m trying to simplify my life.

I already have a platform right here, and there are absolutely no rules about what I can write about on my own website (well, there are to an extent, but you know what I mean). Why try to run multiple blogs, when I can just share everything I want to share right here. All of this is to say that this is no longer simply a book blog, but more of a life blog with a heavy dose of books.

So what should you expect in 2022? More of what you’ve been seeing like updates on what I’m currently reading and wrap ups of my week, lots of short discussion posts, a few long ones, and the occasional review. What will be slightly different is that I won’t always be talking about books. I’ll talk more about the retreat I’m planning, I’ll talk about my lifelong struggle with my weight, I’ll talk more about pushing through my comfort zone. I may even talk very broadly about my job (I can’t share a lot of details due to the nature of the work I do). And I’ll talk about my mental health, the weather, shows and movies I’m watching, my obsession with Taylor Swift, other music, the causes I support, my cat, and my gallery wall. In other words, expect anything and everything, because I have a feeling this blog is going to become just as quirky as I am!
