I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm
When snow falls, sparks fly in this irresistible queer romance from Schneider Family Book Award and Stonewall Honor winner Mariama J. Lockington—for fans of She Gets the Girl and Jennifer Dugan. High school senior Lyric has always found Christmas to be the hardest season. While other kids got presents and family time by the fire, she was in and out of foster care. An up-and-coming make-up influencer and aspiring cosmetology student who loves a bold lip, Lyric…

Disclaimer: I received an eARC for review consideration through NetGalley, on behalf of the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, especially when one of the fakers has had a crush on the other for some time.

Lyric has a lot of baggage and harbors a lot of anger and defensiveness. She doesn’t allow many people to get close to her and hides much of what she feels. But she’s great as an influencer, and enjoys it, using it to keep herself and her grandmother afloat.

Juniper loves to be in nature and is a bit more straight forward, though she keeps to herself. She is less sure of herself and has her own concerns.

Lyric and Juniper click immediately in one respect and have a ton of chemistry. But they also believe they are very different which causes some friction between them.

I enjoyed the growth of each character, and their relationships with their families, friends, and each other. And I loved the hope that you could feel from both characters at the end.

I look forward to reading more from this author.
