A medical mistake changes lives when the wrong eggs are fertilized for surrogacy. Two people are brought together over a baby girl, a marriage is dissolved, and paparazzi inadvertantly reveal secrets.

Myles’s wife refuses to accept that their newborn daughter is hers, mostly because the baby is Black, and they aren’t. She takes off when the mix-up is revealed and Whitney is identified as the baby’s biological mother. leaving Myles alone with his daughter.

Whitney is shocked when she learned about the mix-up. While she wasn’t planning to have a child any time in the near future, she couldn’t sign away her parental rights until she meets her daughter, and the parents.

The blurb really focuses on Whitney’s career and her alter ego Sahara, but while it is a factor in the story, it is not really an emphasis between Myles and Whitney. More of an issue if Myles’s initial determination to not share his daughter with her.

While Whitney didn’t originally intend to be a part of her daughter’s life, she ultimately decides that she wants her daughter as part of her life. She let’s Myles call the shots, but does everything she can to spend time with her daughter. Ultimately spending time with Myles as well.

There are a few issues that crop up in their relationship involving her business, paparazzi, and a surprise twist, but other than that, their relationship evolves in a pretty straight forward manner. And I liked the ending.
