One of my favorites recently has been Baby from the Baker Street Mystery series. He’s a giant English mastiff that loves tummy rubs and protecting those he loves.

I really love your twist to the prompt! I haven’t read many of these but now I’m going to have to add some to the list because a love a good side pup character! The Good Luck Café by Annie Rains had a very cute one.
