Top Ten Tuesday~ Nature Covers
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This has always been one of my favorite linkups and I knew I had to include it in my weekly posting schedule.
This week’s topic is books with nature on the cover. Another fairly straight forward prompt… and another prompt that I can go totally crazy with, but I reigned myself in this time and only chose 10. I picked a mix of fiction and nonfiction from my TBR.
A Walk on the Beach by Joan Anderson:
Shortly after arriving on Cape Cod to spend a year by herself, Joan Anderson’s chance encounter with a wise, playful, and astonishing woman helped her usher in the transformations and self-discoveries that led to her ongoing renewal. First glimpsed as a slender figure on a fogged-in beach, Joan Erikson was not only a friend and confidante when one was most needed, but also a guide as Anderson stretched and grew into her unfinished self.
The Geography of Lost Things by Jessica Brody:
After Ali’s father passes away, he leaves his one and only prized possession—a 1968 Firebird convertible—to his daughter. But Ali doesn’t plan on keeping it. Not when it reminds her too much of all her father’s unfulfilled promises. So when she finds a buyer three hundred miles up the Pacific coast willing to pay enough money for the car to save her childhood home, Ali can’t wait to get going. Except Ali has no idea how to drive a stick shift. But guess who does?
Ali’s ex-boyfriend, Nico. And Nico has other plans.
Driving Over Lemons by Chris Stewart:
No sooner had Chris Stewart set eyes on El Valero than he handed over a check. Now all he had to do was explain to Ana, his wife, that they were the proud owners of an isolated sheep farm in the Alpujarra Mountains in Southern Spain. That was the easy part.
Trust No One by Jayne Ann Krentz:
It’s no coincidence when Grace Elland finds a vodka bottle next to the lifeless body of her boss, motivational speaker Sprague Witherspoon. The bottle is a terrifying—and deliberate—reminder of the horrors of her past.
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson:
The Appalachian Trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America—majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaining guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way—and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in).
To Get to You by Joanne Bischof:
To get to the girl he loves, Riley Kane must head off on a road trip with the father he never knew. Then pray for a miracle.
Buddhism for Beginners by Thubten Chodron:
Answers fundamental questions and issues that arise in the minds of modern Western individuals who are beginning this tradition of practical spirituality.
A Walk in the Park by Brenda Jackson:
Raquel Capers is shocked to discover that her precious pooch, Smookie, is having puppies with the dog next door. She feels it’s only fair that her neighbor, Quest Newman, help with the expenses from this unexpected development. But what’s even more shocking to Raquel is how attractive she finds Quest, and the sparks are definitely mutual. Will these two go from neighbors to something more thanks to a little help from their four-legged friends?
Yoga for Emotional Balance by Bo Forbes:
Emotional balance is within your reach—when you cultivate the intelligence of both your body and mind. Bo Forbes, a psychologist and yoga teacher, presents an integrative approach to healing anxiety, depression, and chronic stress. In this book, she offers some of her most important teachings and practices
The Island by Heather Graham:
On a weekend vacation Beth Anderson is unnerved when a stroll on the beach reveals what appears to be a skull. As a stranger approaches, Beth panics and covers the evidence. But when she later returns to the beach, the skull is gone.

A Walk in the Woods looks like a great read!

It’s a classic!
A Walk in the Woods, classic cover! I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people use it today.
I was surprised too, though I did see it on a few lists.
I’ve heard so many good things about A WALK IN THE WOODS that I finally bought myself a copy. I still haven’t read it, but I will get to it eventually! It’s definitely a nature book with an appropriately nature-y cover.
Happy TTT!

Once upon a time I thought about doing the hike, but have moved it off my bucket list for now. I still love reading the stories of other hikers though!
Ooh The Island sounds good! Lovely cover too. 🙂
I used to read a lot of Heather Graham’s books, but haven’t in a while. I’m looking forward to diving back in with this one!
