Life

I’m starting to catch up on posts, so hopefully I’ll be back on track next week. And I think I’m close to the point where I’ll be done with a lot of the books I’m currently reading and I’ll have a huge week of finished books. Maybe not next week, but soon.

Mom’s kidney appointment went well, no dialysis yet. In fact her kidney function was better this time than from her last appointment. All good things! Next week is her primary care doctor, plus a meeting with someone from the palliative care department to answer some questions mom has about what to expect. Though mom is determined to beat the 2 year prognosis, we’re only a month away from the end of year one, so plans are being discussed.

As far as the rest of my life, I’m still working on birthday week plans (they are not as elaborate as some of you may think, haha). I have put together a fun wish list of things I like, want or need. And I’m building a wish list on Bookshop.org as well for books. I’ll add them to the sidebar soon if anyone is interested.

I also got to attend the virtual book tour stop with Jenny Lawson for her newest book. She is a huge favorite of mine, both as a blogger and author. I’ve also followed and interacted with her on socials for a long time now. Her virtual reading was everything I hoped for (including cameos by her new kitten). I wish more authors did virtual events for those of us who cannot attend in person events for one reason or another. I had hoped that book events would keep a virtual element after the COVID lockdown ended (I attended the virtual events for YALLFest in 2020 and loved it), but that hasn’t happened (sad face).
