Weekly Wrap-Up~ 8/2-8/8/26

After doing monthly wrap-ups in 2025, I decided to go back to weekly wrap-ups for 2026. I’ll be linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer, and Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz. I’ll also be linking up with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality, and with It’s Monday, What Are Your Reading? hosted by The Book Date.

Life
I’m trying to revive my Bookstagram account and doing some new things. So far it hasn’t done anything, but it hasn’t been that long, so we’ll see how it goes this month. Right now it’s mostly graphics that I’m putting together in Canva since 98% of my reading is digital (either ebooks or audio). But I am hoping to do more photos as well, as I start doing monthly (or bi-monthly) trips to the used bookstore I loved (I’m getting a $20 monthly book allowance). I have other ideas too.
On Thursday, I wasn’t able to access any of the drafts or most of the backend processes here on the blog. I was a bit stressed out, but thankfully it was just a temporary issue and I was able to get back into everything on Friday.
Aside from that, I’ve had a pretty chill week, mentally and productivity-wise. We’ve had a heat warning in effect most of the week with temps in the high 90s and so much smoke from the fires here in Oregon. I am very lucky that there are no fires in my immediate area, but the amount of devastation to the east side of both Oregon and Washington is heartbreaking. I’m watching the wildfire dashboard daily to check any new developments. Fire season has gotten so bad over the last several years.
Everything else is going well, eating healthy, getting lots of reading done. I’ve started using an old survey/game app that I used in the past to try to earn some gift cards for the things I need. I mean, yes, Amazon is evil, but if I can get free gift cards from playing games, I’ll happily use them to get the things I need. It takes a while to build up enough, but I’ve got time.

Fake It Till You Bake It and Battle of the Bookshops are two books that sound really good. These fires are awful.
