Last month I talked about how I would design my dream readathon and it got me wanting to try it out. So I decided to put together a week-long, daily-themed readathon. I’ve had difficulty coming up with a name for the event. I originally wanted to go with The Joy of Reading Readathon, but there is an organization called The Joy of Reading, so I didn’t want to step on that… then I thought about The Love of Reading Readathon, but I found some similarly titled events already exist. So I ended up going with a play on my blog’s name and my social media identity and I’m calling it The Reinvented Reader-a-thon.

I wanted to pick a date that was far enough in the future to allow me to plan everything, but not too far away, so I picked the week leading up to my birthday in July. I figured this would give the event a little extra zing.

I am putting this event together for myself this time around, but I am happy to have anyone who is interested join in. More details will be coming but here are the highlights:

• Week-long event running from July 9th through July 15th
• Read as much or as little as you want, but try to read at least a little each day
• Daily theme prompts to help decide your TBR
• Bingo-style Challenge board
• Post to social media of your choice (Instagram will be the main platform) using the hashtag #reinventedreaderathon

Obviously, for this event, I will not be able to provide prizes as I’m still not working. But if the event does well, it might be something that could be added in the future.
