What’s Coming in July 2021
When I was planning out the types of posts I wanted to include in my new space, I toyed with the idea of a monthly wrap-up, as is tradition with many bloggers. I’ve done it myself in the past. But, since I decided to do weekly wrap-ups, and they’re pretty thorough, I thought a monthly wrap up would be redundant. So I decided to do a little twist on the classic and share what’s coming up on the blog in the next month.
Books
This month’s reading theme is books on my Kindle. Here are a few I hope to finish:
Lucky in Love Cemetery Boys Take a Hint Dani Brown Bookish and the Beast Forever is the Worst Long Time
Posts
My posting schedule is written for July. Here are a few things to expect:
Giveaway– Nothing planned yet, but there may be something birthday themed.
Unboxing– I received 2 Nadine West packages in June, so there will be a double unboxing in July
Diversity Spotlight– I’ll be featuring my favorite YA books by authors of color read between April & June, plus some diverse memoirs on my shelves
Discussions– Topics will include my 50th birthday, books that have impacted my life, the 100 books I most want to read in my lifetime, and goals for the next year of my life
Charity Spotlight– This month I’ll be featuring the ASPCA
Reviews– Just one review planned for this month- Perfect on Paper
Plus you’ll still see Top Ten Tuesday, Stacking the Shelves & The Sunday Post each week.
Life
A lot is happening in my life in July. My promotion to Assistant Director goes into effect on the first, so essentially my entire job is changing. I’m going to be incredibly busy, but I’m excited and looking forward to the challenge. I have a bunch of trainings lined up this month as well, plus I’ll be interviewing people to fill my old position as well as an open Coordinator position in my office.
I’ll also be getting my second dose of the Moderna vaccine this month. My reaction to the first vaccine was pretty mild, but I’m still nervous about dose 2. I am looking forward to being vaccinated though. But also nervous about this variant that the vaccine may or may not protect against.
July also has one of my favorite events that started last year… Giftmas in July, hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. So throughout the month, I’ll be showering my person with all sorts of items off of their wish list… dropping in some hints here and there before revealing myself in the last gift of the month. I’ll also be receiving gifts from someone sending to me as well. They started early and have already sent me 2 eBooks! (I’ve sent to my person too, but don’t want to give away my identity just yet, so I’m not saying what, lol).
Mid-month I’ll be taking a few days off work. I was originally supposed to be going away to celebrate my 50th birthday in style, but life and a pandemic altered those plans. Now I’ll be taking my mom to a doctor’s appointment on my actual birthday, so pretty exciting stuff. It’s hard when you want to make a big deal out of a milestone and no one else in your life really cares. So it’ll be just another day. At least I got to do something fun for my 40th and went to Vegas with a friend. Maybe I’ll get to do something big for my 60th.
So there you go, all kinds of things are happening in July, I hope you’ll stop by to see some of them.

Congratulations on your position and good luck! Sounds like you raring and ready to go. I had my second does of Moderna a few weeks ago. My arm hurt and I was so tired, but no fever or chills or anything too bad. Good luck with the vax. I see some great books on your tentative TBR. Hope you enjoy them.
Thank you! So far I have slept a ton and my arm hurts, I wasn’t feeling well on day 2, but it hasn’t been anything too bad. Today is day 3 and I have a headache.
