Review~ A Tropical Rebel Gets the Duke

A Tropical Rebel Gets the Duke
He's not like other dukes… Paris, 1889 Physician Aurora Montalban Wright takes risks in her career, but never with her heart. Running an underground women’s clinic exposes her to certain dangers, but help arrives in the unexpected form of the infuriating Duke of Annan. Begrudgingly, Aurora accepts his protection, then promptly finds herself in his bed. New to his role as a duke, Apollo César Sinclair Robles struggles to embrace his position. With half of…

This final book in the trilogy might just be my favorite!

Aurora is a Black Latina and a female doctor in a time when none of those things is really acceptable. Add to that, she is also breaking the law (and risking her life) to provide reproductive care to women, often against their husbands’ wishes, and she becomes a heroine to champion. She doesn’t conform to expectations, but she also doesn’t believe that she is deserving of happiness and love because of her own scandalous past.

Apollo is a Black Latino Duke who already has the Aristocracy on edge just by his presence. If they knew he was actively supporting Latina women and their independence, they would be appalled. But he doesn’t care, he is avenging his mother.

Together, Apollo and Aurora are a force to be reckoned with, when you add in the rest of Las Leonas and their partners and there’s no stopping what they can achieve.

This book is filled with passion and struggle. There is love, passion, and scandal woven throughout. I loved the entire series, but there is something magical about Apollo and Aurora together.
