Keeping Secrets~ Storage

After much deliberation, I have decided that for the sake of my mental health, I need to move into my own place. Because I got rid of all of my kitchen stuff and furniture when I moved in to help mom, I need to get all of that stuff again. So I’m planning to start picking up everything I need now with a plan to move around October.

Of course, I need somewhere to keep everything, and I have absolutely no room for storage at the house. I am currently looking for a storage unit that I can keep everything in. I’m currently going back and forth on how large the unit should be. I am wavering between a 10×10 unit or a 10×5 unit.

The larger unit would allow me more room for furniture, but I really can’t get the furniture until I know where I’m moving to. I don’t want to buy a large couch to discover I end up with a tiny living room. But the larger unit would also allow me to store some work stuff there as well.

A smaller unit would be less expensive, but would limit the number of things that I could pick up in advance. I know I want a two bedroom and need new bookcases, so would there be enough room in the smaller unit for them? This seems like a silly thing to be concerned about, but my brain works weird and it matters to me.

What does all of this have to do with keeping secrets though? Because of the relationship between myself and my family, I think it’s best that I don’t announce that I am moving until it is a done deal and I have already secured a location later this year. There would be too much opportunity for additional toxicity if they knew my plans in advance, and I’d rather avoid that.
