Weekly Wrap-Up~ 4/12-4/18/26

After doing monthly wrap-ups in 2025, I decided to go back to weekly wrap-ups for 2026. I’ll be linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer, and Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz. I’ll also be linking up with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality, and with It’s Monday, What Are Your Reading? hosted by The Book Date.

Life
I am currently participating in the April Dewey’s 24-Hour readathon, so that’s helping me get through a ton of books this weekend. I’m hoping that will kickstart a good reading week, but we’ll see.
Mom has admitted that she’s starting to feel the decline and it’s coming faster than she wants. She’s scared. And there’s nothing that I can do. And my brother seems to avoid us. He provides all of the financial security over and above mom’s retirement, and he helps with her glucose monitor and paperwork, but he’s not part of the every day emotional struggles, so I feel like I don’t have support. I feel alone in my own processing of everything. And then there are the choices that I have to face for what happens next with me.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. My mother is not doing well at all, and tells me all the time that she is scared. I just sit with her and cry. My heart goes out to you.
I’m sorry that your mom is in decline, and that you do not have the emotional support of your brother. Those are both very hard things. On the other hand, your reading choices have been great; I feel like I should write down every title.
So sorry to hear of your mother’s issues – it’s such a hard time. Especially when you are facing it alone. Sending a hug. Thank goodness for books! Over the last few years, I think I’d have run raving into the night, if I didn’t always have another world to escape to when the going got tough! I hope the coming week is a kinder one.
Sending love at this difficult time.
The books look interesting. I want to read more Janet Evanovich.

Sending hugs your way. I’m sorry that you are alone in dealing with your mother’s issues. Your books do look amazing though. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
I’m sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. There might be some resources in your area you can reach out to for support, speak to your mothers doctor, or your own, or search online for relevant organisations like the Caregiver Action Network or the AARP.
Thanks for sharing your week
