Personal Retreat Planning
I know that I’ve posted about my dream personal retreat before. But now that it is actually becoming a reality, I wanted to share some of the plans I have for myself. I already mentioned that I would be staying in Oregon for both of my trips this year, so for this trip I picked a small town surrounded by history and wineries. It’s close enough to a bigger city if needed, but far enough away to allow the peace that I’m looking for.
The intent of this retreat is a lot of soul searching and reflection. I have undergone so much change and growth in the last year, I want to be sure that I am continuing to head down the right path for me. So a week spent alone in an area where I can explore and spend time in quiet reflection is perfect.
There are some tools that I feel are essential to this retreat. I will be bringing them with me. They include my yoga mat, hiking boots, and journal. I also plan to bring some art supplies and books for creation and inspiration.
There are several parks and hiking trails in the area that I hope to take advantage of. I’d also like to visit some of the wineries that do tours, and a lavender farm and art gallery that are both in the area. I also want to challenge myself and do something I’ve dreamed about and feared in equal measure… go ziplining. There is a zipline adventure park not far from where I’m staying.
I still have a few months before I head out for this retreat, and I am sure that I will make some tweaks and adjustments to my itinerary as it gets closer. But I already feel a great sense of peace just knowing it’s coming.
