Save the Date
From Just Between Us podcast host, mental health advocate, and trusted relationship expert Allison Raskin comes a charming new rom com—loosely based on her own life experience! "Whip-smart, subversive, and infinitely charming. An ode to the beautifully messy work of falling in love on purpose." —Becky Albertalli, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda You are cordially invited to the wedding of Emma Moskowitz and…someone…  When couples therapist Emma Moskowitz is unceremoniously dumped by…

This book has a lot of humor and an interesting take on marriage.

Emma is interesting. After getting dumped by her fiancé, she decides to keep her wedding date and find a new groom with shared values. But she dismisses someone she has a true connection with because he doesn’t agree with her plan, and then tries to force herself to have a connection with someone else who is willing to marry her for his own disturbed reasons.

Emma has a lot of underlying insecurities that come into play, and her anxiety disorder doesn’t help. But I hate that she tries to hide her true self from Matt. Just because he also wants to get married and isn’t looking to fall in love before the wedding doesn’t mean they are a good fit. In fact there were alarm bells ringing in my head about this guy from the moment he came on the page. They didn’t come to fruition, thankfully, but he was never good for her.

But Will was a great match for her and it was sad that she broke things off with him because he didn’t want to fall in with her timeline. She was able to be herself with him. They could have built something meaningful and married later if she hadn’t pushed him away.

I did like what they ended up doing with the wedding, but felt that Emma’s HEA was a little forced in the end.
