It takes two to tango. Allegra Hart has been working her whole life to achieve one goal: become a principal ballerina. When her director starts holding auditions for the lead role in the company’s latest production, Allegra sees this as her chance—maybe her last chance. The catch? The director wants someone with sex appeal, and he doesn’t think she’s up to the task. Determined to prove him wrong, Allegra enlists the help of the lead dancer of…

Allegra focuses all of her time and energy on ballet, with a lot of expectations from her mother. She has little time for anything else in her life, except her sister. When the opportunity for the role of a lifetime comes up, and her director tells her she’s not “sexy” enough for the role, Allegra seeks help.

Cord owns and runs a male dance revue. He’s also the lead dancer and choreographer. And he has a pretty big grudge against ballet (for pretty good reasons). He’s fair with his dancers and employees, and has an amazing relationship with his twin sister.

Cord agrees to work with Allegra on her “sex appeal” and gives her a series of challenges and homework. While Allegra gets in touch with her sensual side, she and Cord grow closer.

I liked the pace of the story, and the growing friendship between Cord and Allegra, long before anything more develops. I loved the banter between Cord and his sister (especially since his sister was teasing about going after Allegra herself- both are Bi). I also liked seeing the way Cord and Noah interacted with each other and the depth of friendship and respect they had for each other.

I also liked Allegra’s relationship with her sister and her friendship with Cord’s sister and a fellow dancer that grew throughout the story.

I hated Allegra’s director and the way he (and her mother, for that matter) treated her. And I felt horrible for Cord (and his sister), when the truth about his ballet past came to light.

Allegra is forced to make choices she shouldn’t have to make and things get messy for a while.

I think the resolution of the story was good. And I really enjoyed how things ended up with the ballet company.
